HARVEY BEEF — JOB LOSSES
Mr B.J. GRYLLS

AnswerView source ↗

Once again, that response should be directed to the Minister for Agriculture and Food. Mr M.P. Murray : What is the point of spending money on the regions if people there lose jobs? The SPEAKER : Order, member for Collie-Preston! I distinctly heard an offer made by the Minister for Regional Development to the member’s side. It might be something the member might want to take up and discuss with the minister. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order! I distinctly heard the Minister for Regional Development make an offer to the member who asked the question. If the member is prepared to work with the Minister for Regional Development, that is his decision. Is the member indicating that he did not hear the offer? Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order! Members, I am simply raising a point with the member for Collie-Preston. I wish to have dialogue with only the member for Collie-Preston. Mr M.P. Murray : Do you want me to stand up, Mr Speaker? The SPEAKER : No, I do not. I am talking to the member for Collie-Preston in this place. All I am saying to him is that if he wants to have a conversation with the Minister for Regional Development about these circumstances, that would be more appropriate than to be yelling out in this house when the member for Darling Range has the call. That is what I am indicating; I am not indicating anything else.
