Given the Minister for Environment sent a signed letter titled "Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines- Management of Noise Generated from Mining and Hauling Activities Associated with the Mt Charlotte Pits Mining Project" to the Williamstown Residents Committee (WRC) dated December 16 1999, which stated - "Thank you for your letter of 25 November 1999, concerning the Environmental Protection Authoritys (EPA) issuing of approval for the above proposal." -
(1) Can the Minister for the Environment explain why she sent the WRC a letter dated February 25 2000, and referring to the WRC correspondence dated November 25 and December 21 1999, stating "We have no record of having received either of these pieces of correspondence"?
(2) If not, why not?

The Minister Replied:
(1) This matter has already been explained to the Williamstown Residents Committee (WRC) in June 2000. The earlier correspondence was held at the office of the Appeals Convenor. As soon as the correspondencwas located, the WRC was informed and the outstanding matters dealt with.
