I refer to the McGowan Government's failed Albany Wave Energy Project and ask: (a) Has the Minister sought through her agencies a final report from Carnegie Clean Energy containing financial reporting that certifies that funding was used for the project and confirming the amount of funding spent: (i) If yes, what Government funds remain from the project, and will the Minister take action to recover these funds; and (ii) If no, why not; (b) Was a quarterly report produced for the Government on expenditure of the public funds given to Carnegie Clean Energy: (i) If yes, will the Minister table that report; and (ii) If not, why not; (c) Can the Minister outline what Carnegie Clean Energy spent the allocated $2.625m of taxpayer funds on: (i) If not, why not; and (d) Does the Government retain any rights in respect to Intellectual Property and/or scientific data from this project?

a) In accordance with the terms of the Financial Assistance Agreement (FAA), Carnegie Clean Energy (Carnegie) has three months from the date of termination of the Agreement to submit a Final Report.
(i) Carnegie is undergoing a process of voluntary administration. Final confirmation of the quantum of the remaining funds has not yet been received. The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has taken steps to identify and recover any remaining funds by:
(ii) Not applicable.
(b) Yes.

(c) The most recent Project update from Carnegie outlined the following activities, which are briefly summarised as follows:
(i) Not applicable.
(d) Yes. Carnegie and the Wave Energy Research Centre collaborated on a number of research and development activities, the data from which now exists as permanent publicly available knowledge that can be used by other developers and marine industries. In accordance with the terms of the FAA, on notice of termination the State Government requested that, to the extent it was not already available, Carnegie ensure that all data relating to the Project has been made available to the Wave Energy Research Centre
