I thank Hon Giz Watson for some notice of the question. (1) Yes. (2) The office of the Premier advises that the number of postcards received so far is 964. (3) The Department of Conservation and Land Management is coordinating preparation of drafting instructions for the proposed biodiversity conservation Bill in consultation with other government agencies ahead of cabinet consideration. The drafting instructions are complex, as can be expected when we are replacing the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950 with modern biodiversity conservation legislation. (4) The Bill remains a high priority for the Government and work on its preparation is continuing. However, at this time a date for introduction to Parliament cannot be given.
