❓ A WA parliamentary question seeks information on the status of forensic analysis related to the Corryn Rayney murder investigation and general DNA analysis turnaround times. The Minister for Police declines to answer specifics on the Rayney case, citing it as an ongoing operational matter, and redirects the DNA analysis question to the Minister for Health.

I refer to media reports earlier this year relating to the investigation by Western Australia Police of the murder of Corryn Rayney and I ask:
(1) Can the Minister indicate whether the pieces of evidence submitted for analysis by PathWest and the Western Australian Chemistry Centre referred to in those reports are still to be analysed; and
(a) if yes, how many items are still awaiting analysis and what is the likely date when analysis is likely to be completed?
(2) Can the Minister further advise in relation to the material which was sent overseas for analysis whether those tests have been concluded; and
(a) if not, when it can be anticipated that that testing will be concluded?
(3) Further, I ask what is the turnaround time for analysis of DNA material:
(a) in priority cases: and
(b) in routine matters?
