(1) What is the sent-out volume of all energy in gigawatt hours from all sources in - (a) the state; and (b) the south west interconnected system? (1) The Office of Energy estimates that in 2006-07, 27 416 gigawatt hours of energy were sent out in the state and 15 719 gigawatt hours were sent out in the south west interconnected system. (2) The Office of Energy estimates that 841 gigawatt hours of renewable energy were sent out in the south west interconnected system in 2006-07. (3) Renewable energy supplied an estimated 5.4 per cent of electricity consumed in the south west interconnected system in 2006-07. The data shows that the government is on track to meet its target of six per cent of energy sold in the south west interconnected system coming from renewable sources by 2010.
