AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) Twenty-two work-related fatalities were confirmed.
(2) These
figures are subject to revision. Seven fatalities occurred in transport, postal
and warehousing; three in mining; three in agriculture, forestry and fishing;
three in construction; three in other services; two in manufacturing; and one
in electricity, gas, water and waste services.
(3) Sixteen
fatalities that fall under the jurisdiction of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act 1984 are currently under investigation. In addition, inspector
inquiries are continuing with respect to two fatal incidents in which the ''work-related''
connection is still to be determined—one recorded in 2013–14
and one in 2014–15.
(4) It will be available between July and August 20l6.
