I refer to the operation of the prayer room at Rossmoyne Senior High School, and I ask: (a) when was the prayer room introduced at the school; (b) at whose request was it made available; (c) what was the approval process; (d) is the prayer room currently accessible to students; (e) at what times during the school day is/has the prayer room been accessible to students; (f) in reference to (e), are students able to miss regular class time to attend; (g) what has been/is the sign-in and sign-out process for students; (h) in reference to (g), if there has been a change to this procedure, please advise; (i) have teachers or school administrators ever attended the prayer room while it was used by students; and (j) what adult supervision is being provided now?

(a)     There is no prayer room at the school. A multifaith prayer space has been used by students since 2011.
(b)     Students.
(c)     The prayer space was approved by the Principal at the time.
(d)     The prayer space is currently accessible to students
(e)     During school break times:
·           Monday and Wednesday between 1:50 and 2:15 pm
·           Tuesday and Thursday between 11:00 and 11:30 am.
·           Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 1:35 and 2:05 pm.
(f)      No.
(g)     Before May 2024 there was no sign-in/out process.
(h)     A teacher has been assigned as the coordinator of the multi-faith prayer space. A register of regular student users is maintained by the coordinator, who is also responsible for adding new students who express interest in using the space to the register. An attendance log for daily use has been established and is maintained by the Coordinator.
(i)      Yes.
(j)      An adult is present at all times when a student uses the space.
