(b) is the Minister aware the house and grounds are being allowed to fall into a state of disrepair;

(a) The residence has been vacant since December 2006. Ownership of this residence was transferred from the Department of Housing and Works - Government Regional Officers Housing to the Western Australia Police in May 2007.
(b)-(c) Western Australia Police have requested the Department of Housing and Works to undertake a quarterly clean up of the grounds. The previous clean up was undertaken in February 2008 (as advised in January 2008) and the next clean up is scheduled to occur in July 2008.
(d)-(e) A review of the requirement for this land to support future Western Australia Police delivery service requirements is due to be finalised in the later part of 2008, thus to attempt to enter into a lease/rental arrangement prior to the outcome of the review becoming known is not desirable. Additionally, it not the core business of the Western Australia Police to provide private rental accommodation.
A review of the quarterly schedule will now be undertaken in an effort to improve existing arrangements in the immediate term.
