I refer to today's release of Infrastructure
Australia's priority list, which includes a record number of Western Australian
transport initiatives and three key job-creating, congestion-busting Metronet
projects.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr Y. MUBARAKAI : Can the minister —

how Infrastructure Australia has endorsed the McGowan Labor government's
commitment to delivering Metronet and building these vital projects such as the

Mr S.K. L'Estrange : How about other
infrastructure? How about investing in hospitals?

The member for Churchlands has already interjected on me—''How
about other infrastructure?'' The opposition does not know whether it supports
Metronet or does not support Metronet. In every speech, members have separate
views. In part of his speech today, the member for Churchlands said that
Metronet was the opposition's transport idea—that is what the
member for Churchlands said. Now he says that he does not support Metronet.
Mr S.K. L'Estrange : I didn't say that.
You're verballing me!
The SPEAKER : I will verbal you, member!
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : Members opposite are not quite sure
what they think of Metronet, but I am glad that Infrastructure Australia, the
federal government and the federal opposition all support Metronet. The list
that was released by Infrastructure Australia today showed a number of good
projects that were analysed and assessed by Infrastructure Australia and put on
the priority list.
Mr A. Krsticevic : Where's the Albany Ring
Road?
The SPEAKER : Member for Carine, you are not funny!
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : Projects such as Thornlie–Cockburn
Link, the Yanchep link, and the Morley–Ellenbrook line all appeared on
the Infrastructure Australia list, many for the first time.
There was an interjection about Albany Ring Road. I am
disappointed that Rick Wilson, the federal member for that area, could not get
it on the Infrastructure Australia list. I am disappointed. The federal Liberal
Party and National Party —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Even though I agree with the minister, we
will keep it quiet.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : We are fighting for federal funds for the Albany
Ring Road, but all we get down there is a federal Liberal Party and
National Party conspiracy to blame everyone but themselves. They are in power
and they can deliver the funds. I urge the federal National Party and Liberal
Party to put money into the Albany Ring Road.
A record number of projects are on the priority list. We are
working with Infrastructure Australia. The Fremantle passenger —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members, this is a very good story.
Minister.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : The Fremantle traffic bridge is on the
list for the first time. Do members remember what happened under the previous
government?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : It appeared, then it disappeared. Can
anyone remember why that occurred—how it appeared then disappeared very
quickly after a certain incident? We go through a proper process. We submit
business cases and we work —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members! Please,
I really want to hear this answer.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : We go through
a proper process and work with Infrastructure Australia and try to get its
approvals to make sure that we get the funding for our projects.
Mr D.T. Redman interjected.
The SPEAKER : I heard you the
first time.
