FRACKING — SOUTH
WEST REGION
370. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the
Minister for Mines and Petroleum:
I refer to the two studies
currently being undertaken in the south west region—the Noble gas
facility's assessment of the groundwater resources and connection of
aquifers in the Peel region and the Chamber of Minerals and Energy in
partnership with CSIRO's Local Voices survey.
(1) Is the minister aware of these
studies?
(2) If yes to (1), are any state
agencies involved or assisting in these studies?
(3) Will the minister request a copy
of the results of these studies?
(4) Will the
minister confirm that the results of these studies will not impact the
government's commitment to ban fracking in the Perth, Peel and south
west regions?
