I refer to the South West Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), and ask: (a) in each of 2014-15 and 2015-16 to date, how many children and/or adolescents were referred to South West CAMHS for an assessment; (b) how many of the children and/or adolescents were given a desktop assessment; (c) how many of the children and/or adolescents were assessed, in person, by a clinician; (d) how many of the children and/or adolescents assessed remain South West CAMHS patients; (e) what was the wait time for an assessment, in person, by a South West CAMHS clinician; (f) what is the average wait time between an initial assessment and the commencement of treatment by a South West CAMHS clinician; (g) were any of the children and/or adolescents that presented to South West CAMHS referred to a private clinician for treament; and (h) if yes to (g): (i) how many children and/or adolescents were referred to a private clinician; and (ii) what were the types of treatment for which a referral was provided?

(a) 2014-15 - 589 referrals.
2015-16 to date - 213 referrals.
(b) 2014/-15 - 332 desk top (triage) assessments.
2015/16 to date - 81 desk top (triage) assessments.
(c) 2014-15 - 419 assessed in person by a clinician.
2015-16 to date - 204 assessed in person by a clinician.
(d) 91.
(e) The wait time for an assessment is up to two (2) weeks; however urgent assessments are seen on the day.
(f) Nil wait time.
(g) Yes.
(h)(i-ii) Providing the types of treatment for which a referral to a private clinician was provided is a significant and time consuming manual task to complete. I am not prepared to divert valuable staff resources away from other duties to undertake this task.
