(1) It is expected that the farm forestry policy will be finalised shortly following discussions with the Ministers for Agriculture and Forest Products. (2) It would be premature to provide specific details of the policy prior to its release. The purpose of the policy will be to provide local government with a consistent approach to the control of farm forestry within town planning schemes and to provide a better meaning of addressing major issues such as the impact of farm forestry on fire management and local roads.
