Perth Park—Business case
1226. Hon Steve Martin to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the business
case for the now-named Perth Park, commissioned by the Office of Major
Transport Infrastructure Delivery and undertaken by ACIL Allen.
(1) Will the
maintenance costs estimated in the business case for the roads, which will form
the street circuit, be borne entirely by the state or is it expected that
these costs will be shared between the Town of Victoria Park and the state?
(2) Given the Town of Victoria Park resolved to
not support the signing of a Metropolitan Region Scheme form 1, what
alternative pathways is OMTID exploring to proceed to a development application
process?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. I provide the following
answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.
(1) Maintenance costs assumed in the business case
are the responsibility of the state. Management of local roads are assumed to
continue as per existing arrangements.
(2) As the local roads are crown land, the form 1
can also be signed by the Department of Planning, Land and Heritage.
Ultimately, the Western Australian Planning Commission remains the decision-maker
on the development application.
