Ambulance ramping—Legislative
Council resolution
950. Hon Nick Goiran to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
I refer to the
resolution made by the house on 17 September 2025 that the Premier ensure that
the Minister for Health make ambulance ramping "her top priority, prepares
a plan, executes it and reports on it monthly to Parliament until it is under
control".
(1) Is the minister aware that since that date,
yet another all-time record was broken, being for the month of September 2025?
(2) Does the minister have a plan?
(3) Noting that more than a month has passed since
the resolution, when will the minister table the first monthly report?

I thank the
honourable Leader of the Opposition for some notice of the question. The
following answer has been provided by the Minister for Health.
(1)–(3) Responding to the unprecedented
demand recently experienced by WA's emergency departments is a key priority of this
government. Under the leadership of the Minister for Health, the Cook Labor
government is making a range of investments to ensure that Western Australians
can receive the health care where they need it, when they need it. As part of
the Department of Health's continuous planning for peak period, a winter plan for
2026 is in development and will include practical strategies to enhance systems
and capabilities in response to increasing demand.
