AMELIA LUCAS
638. Mrs L.M. HARVEY to the Minister for Health:
I refer to the
case of 12-year-old Amelia Lucas.
(1) Can the
minister confirm whether her brain tumour could have been operated on in Perth;
and, if so, why was it not?
(2) Has the
government offered any assistance to pay for the operation by Dr Charlie Teo in
Sydney; and, if not, why not?
(3) Can the
minister confirm whether Amelia is unable to fill her chemotherapy script, and
on what basis is she being denied chemotherapy medicine?
