I believe this one has been
redirected, question C1234.
I refer to the Metronet Yanchep rail
extension development.

unexploded ordnance on or around the Metronet line, including the site of the
Yanchep train station?
(2) What type of
unexploded ordnance survey scans using what type of equipment were undertaken
by Milsearch or other contractors for the Metronet project?
(3) What directions were given to Milsearch or other
contractors for the dimensions of the width, depth, and length of any

Honourable member, I note the
Minister for Transport is not in this place. I represent the minister, so the
question is to me, the Minister for Emergency Services representing the
Minister for Transport.
(1)–(3) As
part of the due diligence for all our infrastructure projects, a review of
unexploded ordnance sites was undertaken. A field validation survey was
conducted in the project areas identified by the Department of Defence as
having substantial potential for UXOs. Minelab F3 metal detectors and
assessment transects were recorded using a wrist-mounted Garmin Foretrex 301
and 401 global positioning system.
