I refer to the Department of Environment Regulation licence conditions for the Meneghello Galvanising Industries' galvanizing plant in Landsdale and ask why those conditions have changed or been made less onerous since Licence 6146/10 was enforced and the licence subsequently executed in July 2013?

The Department of Environment Regulation has informed me that the licence for Meneghello Galvanising Industries in Landsdale was updated and granted on 11 July 2013. The licence was granted with conditions that are consistent with the previous licence, as well as additional conditions to ensure consistency with other licences for premises with similar operations.
Conditions requiring the licensee to make copies of transport dockets available to an inspector upon request, associated with the removal of contaminated wastewaters, solid wastes and sludges from the premises, were not included in the 2013 licence as these matters are regulated under
the Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2004
.
