I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) The board of commissioners has approved in principle the creation of two key providers in the metropolitan area; however, it has asked for clarification on a number of matters that will enable it to confirm the appointment of the two providers. The matter will be further considered by the board of commissioners at its meeting on 20 July 2005. (3) The two recommended key providers consist of a merge of six existing regional community housing associations, which are: Fremantle Housing Association, South City Housing Association and Milligan Foundation Housing Association; and City Housing, East Metropolitan Community Housing Association and Northside Housing Association. (4) Key providers will carry preferred provider status in the allocation of capital funding for community housing programs by the Department of Housing and Works. Other terms will be negotiated with the respective key providers once the selection process is finalised. (5) Not applicable.
