JUBILEE RESERVE, EDEN HILL — DRUG HOUSE
485. Mr D.J. KELLY to the Minister for
Police:
I have a supplementary question. The minister says that it could take
six to eight months. This has been going on for years. Why is the minister
happy to talk tough about meth on the front of the paper, but she has a drug
house operating under her nose and nothing is being done? When will it stop?

As I said, police need to establish patterns. What often happens with
these houses is people —
Mr D.J. Kelly interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Bassendean, I call you to order for the first time. Through
the Chair, please—quickly.
Mrs L.M. HARVEY : People will often put one complaint into
police and they will think their civic duty is done.
Mr D.J. Kelly interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Bassendean!
Mrs L.M. HARVEY : Police need to establish trends in
behaviour. As the member well knows, should the Turnbull government be
re-elected, Jeremy Quinn and Michael Keenan —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Right; I want you to address this thing and I want it finished. You
have 10 seconds.
Mrs L.M. HARVEY : As I said, $100 000 has been promised to
the Town of Bassendean so that it can put some CCTV projects in place. I would
put to the Town of Bassendean that Jubilee Reserve would be a very good reserve
in which to invest that CCTV expenditure.
Several members interjected.
