With regard to Waste Management Facilities in Western Australia -
(1) Can the Minister identify the classifications of wastes being treated by Total Waste Management in Kalgoorlie?
(2) Can the Minister identify the classification of wastes that Total Waste Management are permitted to treat?
(3) Will the Minister identify all waste facilities and their location that can handle the same categories of wastes (as listed above) within the State of Western Australia?
(4) How many have the capacity or licence to facilitate further additional waste and in what quantities?

(1) Yes. Total Waste Management (TWM) has been treating waste as per its licence conditions. Attached is the volumes of waste that TWM has treated per classification under the Environmental Protection (Liquid Waste) Regulations 1986 (Attachment 1). These regulations were repealed in June 2003, but many companies still report against liquid waste categories. (2) Yes. TWM is able to treat wastes that fall into the following categories: acids and alkalii waste, soluble & emulsified oils, oil sludges, chrome wastes, metal finishing wastes, contaminated soils, biodegradable sludges, cement wastes, copper chrome arsenate wastes, sewage and waste oils. (3-4) Attached a list of all waste facilities able to accept the categories of waste which have been accepted at Total Waste management over the past 12 months (See Tabled Paper).
