representing the Minister for Mental Health:
(1) Are all public mental health
beds in Western Australia currently open and operational?
(2) If no to (1), what is the reason
that each bed is closed?

of this question.
(1) No.
(2) As at 22
August 2016, 18 beds are currently inactive: eight child and adolescent beds at
Princess Margaret Hospital for Children are inactive for clinical reasons; four
older adult beds at Rockingham General Hospital are inactive because of demand;
two older adult beds at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital are inactive due to
renovation to bathrooms; four adult beds at Bentley Hospital are inactive due
to room refurbishments.
