VOLUNTEER BUSH FIRE BRIGADES — APPLIANCES
1502. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Emergency Services:
I refer to the Wooroloo Volunteer
Bush Fire Brigade 4.4 and the Chidlow Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade 4.4.
(1) What is the age of each
appliance?
(2) When is each appliance
scheduled for replacement?
(3) Is the
minister aware of any technical issues being experienced by these brigade
appliances and how is the Department of Fire and Emergency Services supporting
their timely rectification?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has
provided the following advice.
(1)–(3) Wooroloo Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade 4.4 is aged
16 years and is approved for replacement in 2024–25 . Chidlow Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade 4.4 is 18 years
old and is due for replacement in 2025–26. Chidlow 4.4 has been returned to the station today
after minor repairs. A mechanical issue for the Wooroloo vehicle is
being investigated. Turnout and mobilisation procedures have been amended with
the support of surrounding brigades in the event of an incident.
