Further to the minister’s comments on the motion prior to question time, will the minister explain why the federal Labor leader, Mr Beazley, has not indicated how he will meet the so-called funding shortfall in the Commonwealth-State Housing Agreement and has made no commitment to this end; or, indeed, how he intends to replace the estimated $1 billion per annum that he will rip off the States as a result of his rollback policy? Hon TOM STEPHENS

What an extraordinary question. How ill-founded in fact it is. The member needs to know that the federal Opposition has committed a future Beazley Government to reintroducing a Commonwealth-State Housing Agreement - The PRESIDENT: Order! I believe that the question addressed the opinion of Mr Beazley. Mr Beazley is not a member or a minister in this Chamber, and the minister is not accountable in that regard.
