I thank the member for some notice of this question. A non-recurrent grant of $45 000 was approved for the Western Australian Network of Community Based Home Care Services during the 1998-99 financial year. Approximately $15 000 of this grant represented additional funding compared with the previous year's non-recurrent grant specifically for the agency to assist the Health Department of WA with the implementation of the WA safeguards policy, the national service standards instrument and a sector-wide approach to the Y2K issues. The department has now implemented these three major initiatives and, consequently, the time required for the WA Network to support the home and community care service provider sector has been significantly reduced.
