WOODSIDE ENERGY — PILBARA JOBS
815. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. How
many additional jobs has Woodside committed to change from FIFO to residential
as part of the local employment initiative?

AnswerView source ↗

I
do not understand the member's question, but I will attempt to answer
it, as mixed up as it was. Woodside Energy is a great Western Australian
company. It is a great Western Australian success story and we should all be
very proud of it. I am very proud of it. It might have emerged out of Victoria,
but it is Western Australian now. I support Woodside. I think Peter Coleman is
doing a good job. I think all our measures to try to get Browse gas onshore in
Karratha deserve the support of the people of Western Australian. I think the
Liberal Party and the Nationals WA should support us in this, and not all the
time try to run down a company like Woodside and our mining industry in Western
Australia, because hundreds of thousands of our citizens depend upon those
jobs. I will tell members one thing: the people of Karratha know that if they
vote Liberal or National, that is the end of their community.
