(1) A 22kV Sub Station. The equipment installed at the site by Western Power included a 500 kVa transformer with a 200 Amp LV fuse for the customer's supply.
(a) BalcattaPrimary Schoolrequested an upgrade to provide an increased load from 100 Amps to 160 Amps for a new canteen and covered assembly area at the school. The school also requested that the supply be undergrounded. Due to the existing overhead equipment servicing the school not having the required capacity, Western Power asked that a ground-mounted equipment be located on the school's property at the same time. The final location of the asset was determined by the Department of Education and Training. Its preferred location was to the south of the school frontage.
(b) The construction was completed on 20 January 2006
(c) Approval for the location of the ground mounted transformer was provided to Western Power by the Department of Education and Training in conjunction with the Building Management Authority. The Department of Housing and Works provided payment for construction and The City of Stirling was notified by correspondence that work would be undertaken by Western Power at this location.
(d) This 500 kVA transformer in front of BalcattaPrimary schoolsupplies the school only. However, it is interconnected to the LVnetwork in the area as an open point, thus it has capability to provide back-up supply to the surrounding suburb LVnetwork. This interconnection also allows the school to be back-fed from other local area LVnetworks if this transformer fails.
(e) Yes
(f) Not applicable.
