I thank the member for Girrawheen for her question and also for the interest that she has shown in this matter and the representation she has made to government on behalf of her constituents. I also thank the many members who have been talking to their constituents and have been listening to their point of view and have brought that to government. That is all part of the productive debate that is currently under way. So far, we have had 430 online submissions and 270 written submissions, and quite a number of people have asked whether they can put in their submission a bit late. Therefore, I inform the House - and we will make it known more widely - that the closing date for submissions will be extended from this Thursday to next Thursday, 17 April, so that those people who are still putting together their submissions can get those in, and the Government will make a decision being very well informed of the views of a range of interests across the community. Mr M.W. Trenorden: Your union mates will make the decision, not the Government. Mr J.C. KOBELKE: We will make the decision, and we are listening, but the trouble is that members on the other side are saying totally conflicting things. The Leader of the Opposition just a while back was reported in the paper as saying that deregulation is inevitable. The Deputy Leader of the Opposition is saying that any extension of trading hours will decimate small business, not realising he is in Hansard as saying he believes we should extend trading hours. The Opposition wants to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds! It does not have any process at all on this matter. Mr M.W. Trenorden: Some people in this House have a problem with some issues. You have a problem with this issue because you definitely have one foot in one camp and another foot in another camp. Mr J.C. KOBELKE: I fail to see what relevance that has to retail trading hours. If members opposite do not want to treat this important issue seriously and honestly, they will have no credibility in the community. That is already well established, because an advertisement was run for a business breakfast in Fremantle, at which the Deputy Leader of the Opposition was to speak on this very issue, but unfortunately that breakfast had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. No-one wanted to hear the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party! They had to cancel the breakfast! No-one was interested because members of the Liberal Party have no credibility and nothing to say, and no-one wants to talk to them.
