AIRLINE PILOTS — INDUSTRIAL ACTION
85. Ms M. BEARD to the Premier:
I
have a supplementary question. Does the Premier acknowledge the enormous impact
that this is having on locations such as Broome, Paraburdoo, Solomon,
Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Newman?

AnswerView source ↗

I do not know whether the member
heard my comments, so let me just repeat them. The pilots' union, at
the urging of the minister, has agreed to suspend its industrial action. That
is a great outcome. It is a good outcome in making sure that those companies
and communities are not impacted and it is a great outcome particularly in the
context of the potential weather events. Once again, I commend the Minister for
Industrial Relations for her leadership and thank all the parties for making
sure that we reach an amicable outcome.
