Some weeks ago the minister announced at a Local Government Managers Association meeting a country local government fund consisting of $70 million of taxpayers’ money. Can the minister explain — (1) Which local governments will be eligible to apply to the fund? (2) What criteria will be applied to the applications? (3) Will the Western Australian Local Government Association’s sustainability checklist be used to ensure that only sustainable local governments receive the money?
