(1) Will the Minister detail the anticipated energy consumption required for the State Government’s desalination unit that has been approved for construction on the Burrup Peninsular in the Pilbara?
(2) Is there currently available sufficient excess power generation in the Pilbara to meet the energy needs of this proposed new desalination unit on the Burrup?
(3) Has Horizon Power granted approval for the Water Corporation to access supply of energy for this desalination unit; and
(a) if yes, at what cost and under what conditions?
(4) What will be the capital cost to the State Government of any necessary expansion of the power generation capacity of the Pilbara to meet the power needs of the desalination unit approved for the Burrup?
