STATE ADMINISTRATIVE TRIBUNAL — JUDGE DAVID
PARRY — CONTRACT
634. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Planning:
I refer to the fact that Judge David
Parry's term as deputy president of the State Administrative Tribunal
has now expired and that his contract has not been renewed.
(1) Is the minister
aware of concerns from the planning industry about his contract not being
renewed; and, if so, who has raised concerns with the minister?
(2) Has anyone from the minister's
department and agencies raised concerns about this issue?
(3) Does the minister
agree with the reduction in planning expertise in relation to the removal of
sessional members from the resources and development stream of the State Administrative
Tribunal, and the non‑renewal of Judge Parry's contract?

I thank the member for her question.
(1)–(3) No;
no-one has raised any concerns with me. Obviously, matters surrounding the
State Administrative Tribunal fall within the responsibility of the Attorney General.
I will seek to provide any further information if any comes to light, but no
information has been provided to me about any concerns in that regard.
