I refer to question without notice 953 of 18 December 2001 and question on notice 395 of 20 March 2002. The Minister for the Environment and Heritage said that the Department of Environmental Protection does not have information on the Brookdale facility handling noxious and toxic industrial waste in 1990 when the facility did not have appropriate approval for that type of waste. Given that the Department of Health also says it does not have that information, I ask - (1) Have records been kept of the toxic materials brought into and processed at the Brookdale facility between 1989-96? (2) If yes, where are those records? (3) Will the minister undertake to table those records as soon as possible? (4) If no records have been kept, why not? Hon TOM STEPHENS
