Members will remember
that Muja AB is the coal-fired power station —
Several members
interjected.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : — that has been under refurbishment
in a joint venture between Verve and a firm called Vinalco. It is composed of
four generating units, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Units 3 and 4 have been generating. The
government has decided that 3 and 4 will continue to generate and meet its
contract to supply electricity to the private sector retailer. The government
has decided that units 1 and 2 will be temporarily suspended. There are a
number of issues yet to be resolved on this, but I plan to make a full
statement later this week.
