LORD MAYOR OF PERTH —
CORRUPTION AND CRIME COMMISSION REPORT
673. Mr D.A. TEMPLEMAN to the Minister
for Local Government:
I have a supplementary question.
Honestly, why has the minister failed to do anything to prevent the City of Perth's
reputation from being damaged by this drawn-out and sorry saga? Why has the
minister not simply requested from the State Administrative Tribunal when we
might have it resolved?

A State Administrative Tribunal
process is a process in which two parties come together in front of a judge.

Mr
A.J. SIMPSON : I am sure the member understands that as much as anyone else.
It is up to the two individuals to work through their issues together.

Mr

The
SPEAKER : Member for Mandurah, that is enough! I call you to order for the first
time.
Mr
A.J. SIMPSON : Thank you, Mr Speaker. I can only reinstate what I said
before. It is in the hands of the State Administrative Tribunal, and the State
Solicitor's Office is now prosecuting the case on behalf of the
department. As it goes through that process, I am perfectly sure that it will
come up for hearing through the State Solicitor's Office and be
resolved. As the Minister for Local Government, I need to be on the job to make
sure that local governments are doing the correct thing.
Mr
D.A. Templeman interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Mandurah, I call you to order for the second time.
Thank you.
