GRAIN FREIGHT NETWORK
I refer to the minister’s announcement on Friday that the state government will invest $50 million in the state grain freight network. (1) Can the minister provide a complete breakdown of all the programs that were included in the announcement and the amount of money that will be spent on those programs in each financial year? (2) Does the $30 million allocated by the commonwealth government require specific matching funding; and, if yes, which of the programs in answer to (1) match the commonwealth funding? (3) How much of this money will be spent on maintaining or upgrading any tier-3 lines in the network? (4) Does the state government still expect the commonwealth government to provide up to $135 million to match state funds for the grain freight network? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN
