Funds are required to be spent on an education and community awareness program which promotes responsible ownership, treatment and respect for animals. In addition, the funds are to be used to aid management of the inspectorate which was set up to help manage animal welfare issues. The RSPCA is required to submit a budget each year before payment of funds are made. The budget for 2005/06 was $122,700 for Education and Promotion and $127,300 for Inspectorate management.
