I refer to the Minister's answer to Legislative Assembly QON 2484 and note the information therein that the Chief of Staff to the Minister for Sport and Recreation failed to submit a Request to Attend Event form before enjoying corporate hospitality valued in excess of $600 with an entity that has a commercial relationship with the Government, and ask: (a) has the Department of Premier and Cabinet taken to discipline the Chief of Staff in question: (i) if so, what action was taken; and (ii) if not, why not; (b) will the Department be investigating why the Chief of Staff did not submit this form: (i) if so, when will the investigation be finalised; and (ii) if not, why not; (c) does the Department still brief staff who attend the integrity training about the need to submit request to attend event forms prior to accepting hospitality: (i) if not, why not; and (d) has the Chief of Staff attended integrity training: (i) if so, will the Department be asking the Chief of Staff to re-attend integrity training so as to ensure that they are up to date with departmental expectations and policy; and (ii) if not, why not?

(a)-(d) No. As was the case in the previous government, neglecting to fill in a “request to attend event” form does not constitute a breach of the Department’s Code of Conduct. The Department can confirm it was an administrative error on behalf of the Chief of Staff concerned.
