(a) The Salaries and Allowances Tribunal determines the standards for Members of Parliament vehicles. To my knowledge the Tribunal has never required audible alarms to be installed as a standard fitting. However, Members may opt to include such an alarm as an accessory on their vehicle if they believe it is required. Audible alarms are not a standard fitting on ministerial vehicles.
