VARANUS ISLAND GAS PLANT — ALLEGED INCIDENT
1025. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Mines and Petroleum:
I refer the minister to the answer
to my question without notice dated yesterday in which the minister advised the
house that, on 22 March 2023, the government was informed of the findings of an
internal investigation by oil and gas
company Santos into a potential oil spill that occurred near the Varanus Island
gas plant off the coast of Karratha.
Will the minister table the advice
and/or report that the government received from Santos?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question. As the matter is still under investigation, it is not
appropriate for the report to be tabled.
