ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT — WORKSHOPS —
INTERPRETERS
426. Ms M. BEARD to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I have a supplementary question.
Will the minister ensure that any information that is provided in writing will
be provided in multiple languages—potentially Aboriginal languages as
well—to cater for the diverse, multicultural grower group and ensure
that this important information is disseminated?

We
will do whatever we can to ensure that people receive the information,
including people from different Aboriginal language groups. At the
moment, people with different languages have to comply with the current laws.
We are doing what we can to ensure that communication —
Ms M.J. Davies interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Dr A.D. BUTI : We are doing
our best to ensure that we can provide information in as many ways as possible
to ensure that everyone who needs to understand the new laws will understand
the new laws.
