EDUCATION
ASSISTANTS — REDUNDANCIES — PREMIER'S COMMENTS
536. Mr R.H. COOK to the
Premier:
I have a
supplementary question. Under this provision of the act these people will be
sacked, and in December 2013 the Premier said that was not intended for this
class of employee. Why did the Premier break his promise?

AnswerView source ↗

No-one has broken
their promise.
Mr R.H. Cook : You have! Did you break your word then?
Mr C.J. BARNETT : If you were courteous enough to listen!
These staff members are surplus to requirements because of the reasons that I
gave. They have been informed by correspondence about redeployment or the offer
of redundancy. That is the very early start of the program. Every effort will
be made to redeploy them. If they do not wish to be redeployed, they will be
given a redundancy, and a generous one.
Mr D.J. Kelly interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Bassendean, I call you to order for the second time.
