EDUCATION — TRANSPORTABLE SCHOOL BUILDINGS
1003. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Education:
I refer to the department's
decision to slow down the installation of transportable school buildings due to
the depth of the footings required until the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage
Regulations are repealed.
(1) When was the
impact of the new laws on the installation of transportable school buildings
first drawn to the attention of the minister?
(2) How many transportable school
buildings are currently pending installation?

I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The premise of the
member's question is false. There has been no impact on the installation of transportable school buildings
related to the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act.
