I refer to the State of Cockburn Sound Report 2014 and ask: (a) what action did the Minister take in respect to the Report's advice that: shellfish harvested recreationally elsewhere in the Sound is not monitored for quality ; and (b) has the Minister asked the Cockburn Sound Management Council to put in place a broad shellfish sampling program to protect public health?

(a)-(b) The Department of Health recommends only eating shellfish that have been harvested commercially under strict monitoring programs that ensure the waters are free from pollutants and toxins. These safety programs include routine testing of the animal as well as the waters to make sure the shellfish are safe to eat.
