Ambulance ramping—2026 winter plan
1094. Hon Nick Goiran to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the
resolution made by the house on 17 September 2025 that the Premier ensure that the
Minister for Health make ambulance ramping her top priority, prepare a plan,
execute it and report on it monthly to Parliament until it is under control.
(1) Other than the development of a winter plan
for 2026, as revealed in response to my question without notice last month, is
anything else being done?
(2) On what date did the development of this
winter plan commence?
(3) By what date is this plan expected to be
completed?
(4) Will the minister commit to tabling this plan?
(5) If no to (1) or (4), why not?

I thank the Leader
of the Opposition for some notice of the question. The following answer has
been provided by the Minister for Health.
(1)–(5) The 2026 winter plan will take a
system-wide approach to preparedness. Significant work is underway and, as
committed by the Premier, the final plan will be released publicly by February
2026. Government has a range of other initiatives in place to ensure that capacity
is in place, such as the announcement to bring St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital
into public hands.
