1245. Hon KATE DOUST to the Minister for
Commerce:
I refer to the home building company Essential First Choice Homes Pty
Ltd.
(1) Has the Building Commission received any complaints in relation to
this company?
(2) If yes to (1) —
(a) how many complaints;
(b) what were the nature of the complaints;
and
(c) what were the outcomes of the
complaints?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Yes.
(2) (a) There have been nine complaints.
(b) One home building work contract
complaint was received in May 2012, one building service complaint was received
in July 2012, four related home building work contract complaints were received
in June 2013, and two related building service and home building work contract
complaints were received in December 2015 and May 2016 respectively. There have
been no disciplinary complaints or complaints of statutory breaches.
(c) Two complaints were referred to the
State Administrative Tribunal, five complaints were conciliated with orders
issued to give effect to an agreement, and two complaints were withdrawn.
