I refer to the Perth to Bunbury Fast Train project, and I ask —
(1) Have all feasibility studies been completed?
(2) Will the Minister table all the feasibility studies?
(3) If no to (2), why not?
(4) It being some three months since the Minister's answer to a similar questions asked during Budget Estimates, have the unresolved issues with regard to the final section of the of the route from Eaton to Koombana Bay been resolved?
(5) If yes to (4), what is the outcome?
(6) If no to (4), what are the ongoing issues impacting on resolution of the matter?
(7) What options are being progressed in relation to a train station in the Bunbury central business district?
(8) What work is currently being undertaken on this project?
(9) What timeframe is the Minister working to for delivery of this project?
(10) When will the Minister lodge a cabinet submission seeking funding for this important project?

The
Public Transport Authority
advises:
Insofar as the Public Transport Authority (PTA) is concerned:
(1)  No.
(2) No.
(3) The Project's feasibility study has not yet been completed.
(4)  No.
(5)  Not Applicable
(6)  The PTA is examining the options with Main Roads Western Australia and the Department of Planning (DoP) to fully integrate the transport and land use needs in the area. This is a complex engineering and planning task that if not completed adequately can result in poor land use outcomes, operational issues and significantly higher capital cost than if completed thoroughly.
(7)  The Bunbury Central Business District train station proposal has been completed by the PTA in conjunction with DoP and Landcorp.
(8)  See answer to part 6.
(9)  Work as detailed in the answer provided at part 6 will be completed in the current financial year.
(10)  The Government cannot nominate when the new line will be built but is focussed on protecting the right of way as soon as possible.
