INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
598. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the minister's
media release from 16 August 2018 titled ''WA to attract best and
brightest international students'' and the statement that the
implementation of an additional graduate skilled migration list will help grow
Western Australia's share of the international education market.
(1) How many
additional international students are projected to undertake this new pathway
in 2019, 2020 and 2021 to study in Western Australia?
(2) What is the
complete list of occupations that will be offered to international students for
priority consideration for skilled migration under the state-nominated migration
program?
(3) Given a key
part of the ''WA Labor Plan for Jobs'' includes an investment of
$2 million to develop an international education strategy, will the minister
provide a full breakdown of how those funds will be utilised; and, if not, why
not?
