STATE SCHOOLS - MARKETING FUNDING
The Australian Council of State School Organisations education blueprint released on Monday 30 April 2007 points to the need for public schools to market themselves competitively with private schools. The blueprint also noted that well-funded private schools make use of their federal and state funding directly or indirectly for marketing purposes. (1) Is there any existing provision in the budget allocation for public schools, especially senior high schools, to market themselves? (2) If yes, how much would a senior high school be allocated in any year for this purpose? (3) If yes to (1), are there any restrictions on the form of promotion a senior high school can engage in? (4) If no to (1), will the minister consider allocating a realistic budget to senior high schools for marketing over and above the existing funding arrangements? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

The member will probably not be very happy with this, but, unfortunately, I do not have a response to that question in my file. Should it get here before the end of question time I would be only too happy to table it.
