PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS
I take this opportunity to welcome to the gallery today the year 12 students from Murdoch College. I sincerely hope, Premier, that their education will not be influenced by the hasty implementation of outcomes-based education. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order, members! I am sure the helpful comments of people on my right will assist the minister greatly in answering the question, but I am sure she does not want them. Mr T.R. SPRIGG : My question is directed to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure. Ms A.J.G. MacTiernan interjected. The SPEAKER : I call the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure to order. Mr T.R. SPRIGG : Thank you for that protection, Mr Speaker. Minister, let me - Mr A.D. McRae : That’s not in your electorate; that’s in my electorate! Mr T.R. SPRIGG : That is why I am trying to help the member. I refer to the sign located on South Street, near Pinetree Gully Road, in Willetton that says, as members can see, “Pedestrian Overpass: Work Starts Here in 2005”. (1) Is the minister aware that we have now reached the fifth month of 2006? (2) When were the local residents advised that the project was so far behind schedule? (3) Why is this work so far behind schedule? (4) When will this work start? (5) When will it finish? Ms A.J.G. MacTIERNAN
